Slow nights; paint, stamp, print on textiles, Thursdays 6.30 – 9 pm, 6 weeks. Feb 13th - March 27th
Taking inspiration from a wide range of textile artisans, we will draw, carve, stencil, stamp, dye, ink and print on fabric.
Over the 6 weeks, you will be guided to create a beautiful collection of your own individually printed designs on fabric which will include a linen tea towel to take home at the end.
We will deep-dive into making pattern repeating designs and you will make your own unique assortment of printing stamps, stencil designs, and a carved printing block to each use. There will also be time to experiment with dyeing fabric and explore some traditional Shibori techniques.
This workshop will be a place for you to come and take your mind off the hook and get lost in a bit of textile pattern therapy.
All materials will be provided to use during the workshop. In the end, you will take home your printing blocks, several printed samples on cotton, and your completed printed linen tea towel.
This is a fun and creative class, and all levels of experience are welcomed.
